Have you tried bringing the progressbar into Flash? I saw a post somewhere of someone having trouble getting the multiple file upload to work, because of a new security feature, where the user has to click a button for each upload.

You have to click the flash movie to activate the file browsing dialog window. Once the files are selected the uploads can still be made without a click.
We have no plans to move more UI into the Flash Player. There are lots of other Flash Based uploaders that use a full Flash based UI. Several good ones will come up on Google with a little searching.
